HOW-TO-SSL Using WinSSLWrap&mIRC
(basicly this should work with any windows-based irc client)

1. Download it from here: WinSSLWrap
(you need winrar/rar to uncompress file. If you dont have WinRAR, download it from here: WinRAR)

(if it cant find some visual studio DLLs you can download visual_studio_7_dlls.rar from the same site)

2. goto services (press Services-button)



2.1 Add new service (press Add-button)



- Name it like UICN-SSL (or whatever you like)
- Check: Enabled
- Select Service Type: SSL Tunnel
- Listen Host: localhost (or 127.0.0.1)
- Listen Port: This one could be any, but it should be greater than 1024
- Remote Host: Server you want to connect to (UICN servers are in format: server.uicn.net)
- Remote Port: Server's port (9999 default on UICN)
- Check: Use SSL for remote
- Uncheck: Use SSL for listening



Press OK-button and result should be something like this:



3. And finally connect to server: /server localhost port (port = Listen Port)



4. After that you can verify ssl connection doing: /whois your-nick
whois returns nick's information and there should be:
   1. user mode: +s
   2. line: is using a secure connection (SSL)



5. Congratulations you're done now, take a cup of coffee and have fun.
